One for the Road - Studio License
This piece was originally commissioned by Nicola Cantan from Vibrant Music Teaching as part of her Concept Collection series, for the issue called Mixolydian. This song is great for country music lovers and students who love Westerns, cowboys and cowgirls. One for the Road centers around notes in the G Mixolydian scale and features a LH melody in 3/4. We hear the lowered seventh as a prominent note in the melody all throughout the song, and towards the end there’s another big moment with a surprise F dominant seventh chord.
